A creative, joyful Hebrew school in Mason, Ohio, part of the Jewish Discovery Center, serving the Jewish children of the Mason, Deerfield, Loveland, and West Chester communities since 1994.
Hebrew school often gets a bad rap, something kids endure to please their parents. We refuse to accept that. At DHS, every Sunday is designed to make children excited to be Jewish. We bring Torah stories to life through art, music, and movement. We celebrate every chag with hands-on adventures the kids talk about for weeks. We teach Hebrew through Aleph Champ, where progress feels like earning a karate belt.
Our top priority is creating a joyous, interactive learning environment in which each child feels welcome. Every effort is made to ensure that the learning experience for each individual student is positive, stimulating, and exciting. We go out of our way to ensure that each child is motivated and engaged in thought-provoking activities.
Our non-judgmental, friendly, and inclusive policy means every Jewish child is welcome, regardless of affiliation, religious observance, or prior knowledge. Our diverse student body provides a setting where each child is comfortable and able to learn at a relaxed pace.
Whatever you’re looking for in a Hebrew School, from devoted staff to a solid academic environment, from quality experiential activities to a comfortable exposure to the joys of Jewish life, you’ll find it here at DHS. In this environment, children don’t just love to learn about Judaism. They learn to love Judaism, too.
Educators, parents, and community members, all passionate about making Jewish learning unforgettable.
Program Director
Goldy is the visionary behind DHS programming and events. Whether it’s a Sukkot cloud hunt or a Purim parade, if it’s loud, joyful, and unforgettable, she’s probably the one who dreamed it up.
